How to upload documents

Last Updated: Nov 21, 2016 03:03AM PST
Getting your documents inside LedgerDocs is simple. For your convenience, we have 3 ways to do this:

Method 1 - Upload via Web Browser
  1. Login to LedgerDocs and go to the company you want to upload files to.
  2. Click on the green “Upload to Inbox” button and choose files from your computer that you want to upload. Note: you can select multiple files at once by using the mouse or by holding down the CTRL key.

Method 2 - Upload via Email

You can send documents by email to your Inbox on LedgerDocs in a few easy steps:
  1. Click on Company Name > Email tab
  2. Request an email address that will be uniquely assigned to your company
  3. Once the system has accepted your request, go to your email and send a message with an attachment (PDF, JPEG, Word, Excel) with your chosen address in the ‘To’ or ‘Cc’
  4. field.  The subject line and any additional text in the body of your email will be captured and stored as a note with the attached documents and will be searchable.
  5. The system will also send you an email confirmation once files are received by LedgerDocs.

Method 3 - Upload via iPhone App

You can take photos of documents, such as receipts, invoices, bank statements etc. and email them to LedgerDocs using your LedgerDocs email address, as mentioned above. However, iPhone users can use download a free app from the iTunes Store or from the link here.

Method 4 - Upload via ScanSnap

You can automatically upload documents to LedgerDocs via your Fujitsu ScanSnap iX Series of scanners. More details here
Automate Document Requests

We've added a feature to email automated reminders to your clients to request all relevant documents you need. This feature is independent of any accounting software, meaning you are free to use this method whether your client's files are QuickBooks, Sage, or other applications.
